Maybe when you're free just go browsing through career websites and stuff, it'll at least help you discover more options? What you do in uni doesn't equal to what you do for a career, but it's never bad to have some prior knowledge that may help you advance your career. :D
Don't worry too much about letting everyone down. I'm a hypocrite because I'm not entirely there yet, but if you worry too much about making other people happy, then you'll forget to make the one person most important happy: yourself. Plus, you're the one who'll experience it all, so I think it's important to be happy about the decisions you make. Besides, living up to other people's expectations can be very exhausting after a while...
LOL, generally, with FFN, the number of reviews = the better alright. This makes me feel sad because a lot of things get a fic more reviews: pairings, humor, crack, big name author, etc. Not to say that these aren't good, but I'm more in love with writing styles than any of the above, so... it's kind of sad that the ones with exceptional writing style are usually overlooked. :(
